Christine Kehoe Endorses Georgette Gomez for City Council

Another Key Endorsement Adds to Gomez' Momentum

CITY HEIGHTS – Senator Christine Kehoe, one of San Diego’s best known and most trusted progressive Democratic leaders, has endorsed Georgette Gomez for City Council.

Senator Kehoe, who formerly represented San Diego, including large portions of Council District 9, in the State Senate, State Assembly and on the City Council, said: "Georgette Gomez is a champion for our neighborhoods who will put the needs of working people first at City Hall.  She’s spent her life fighting for our communities, for our environment and for clean, healthy neighborhoods for all.  I’m proud to endorse Georgette Gomez for City Council.”

Kehoe’s endorsement comes on the heels of growing support for Gomez’s City Council campaign.  In recent weeks she’s been endorsed by Councilman David Alvarez, City Hall Watchdog Donna Frye, the League of Conservation Voters, and San Diego’s hotel workers’ union.

Georgette Gomez said: “I’m honored to have Christine Kehoe’s endorsement in this campaign.  I’m running to bring progressive Democratic leadership to City Hall to put the needs of working people first.  I’ll stand up to the downtown special interests shortchanging our neighborhoods and fight to make City Hall work for the people again.”

Georgette Gomez is a candidate for San Diego City Council District 9. Georgette is a member of the City Heights Area Planning Committee and Associate Director of the Environmental Health Coalition’s Toxic-Free Neighborhoods campaign. Georgette and her partner, Xochitl, live in the Azalea Park neighborhood of City Heights.
